The Auction is a good place to watch. Beware, this is where knockoffs surface or boats never registered. Verification of the hull is reguired before registration or transfer...Class Secretary.
I agree that because he got a mold set and took it back to Canada, he probably did not get it certified to be a legal builder. Maybe Rick has some history on it.
Just FWIW, typically the boats made prior to the `95 standard did not have the transom molded onto the hull... it was left open and the transom was molded onto the deck, or not at all and the transom was placed onto the hull later as this one appears to be. [:o)]
Over the last few years, as the class has grown and its media presence broadened, we are getting more and more tags to us. The enterprising public feeds off our success.
Having another mold set out there is not helpful but has been expected. It would not surprise me that someone has already splashed a RMD hull or soon to do so. If one does there homework they would know the class controls this through registration by initiating it at the manufacture level.
We can deal with the PR for those that do now read and where it is important it comes out well.
These are Canadian boats and they cannot sell them there. So…..
