Ok, so Mother Nature gave us would become a warm sunny day in December for our Freeze Your Butt Off Regatta. In return, she screwed with the breeze both in direction and strength most of the day. Simply put, it was just one of those days that you do the best you can with what you have. I had courses set all over the lake. Thanks to a very cooperative fleet, everyone managed to sail 10 races using our new CESS Pool fleet management system.

The true hero of the day was Nick Mortgu, who not only supplied regatta hats, but also had an embroidered award for everyone. In addition, he was responsible for the chili at lunch and scoring. Thanks.

The new FYBOR champion is none other than EC12 National Champion, Dave Ramos. It will be interesting to see the FYBOR perpetual trophy on display right next to the Nationals trophy in his shop. They are at different ends of the spectrum as far as class goes.

Ernest Freeland crushed Jamey Betz by a full point to take runner up honors. Better known as the first person not to have to take home the FYBOR trophy.

A lot of people came from rather far distances to take part in this regatta. Thanks to all for making the effort. It was great to hang with friends all day.

Thanks Dave and Nick for another very successful FYBO regatta. Challenging conditions for both RC and skippers, but a very enjoyable way to spend a December day racing in the north-east. Special thanks to Nick for the great selection of embroidered awards. Fantastic!! :D :D

Thank you Nick and Dave for putting on an excellent regatta. I was bone tired after walking half the lake but over all Dave did a good job of setting the courses numerous times to use the winds to the best advantage. I'm looking forward to FYBOR3 if it happens.

Thanks Nick and Dave for a great regatta. What a great time. :D

To see 23 boats turn up for a 1 day regatta and from as far away as CT was very cool.
It was nice to see all of our sailing friends one more time before winter sets in and the water gets hard up here.

It has been a wild year for me, and thanks need to go out to the people that kept me focused and laughing.
The FYBOR trophy is on display.....haha. It has already gotten a few double takes and laughes.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season
See you at the pond

I wonder where that black scum came from...... :?: :?: :?: My boat was coated with it but it was easily cleaned up.

Congrats to Mr. Ramos for his victory is some very "interesting" conditions....

Mr. Brawner and his staff made the trip down from CT (we left at 5am) worth the trip. As Dave said, nice to see everyone one more time before the snow flies. Thrilled to see Ernest sail so well and take second place.

BTW, I am willing to contribute something to Mr. Ramos's shop in order to build a proper spot to house all these trophies... He has GOT to be stepping on them by now.

HeHe, Good one chuck! :D
BTW Alex had a blast and was telling all the guys at the acaddemy about the regatta. We may need to figure a way to run a one day regatta there for the Mids. He said there was a lot of interest.
