Champions Regatta

Postby kahle67 » Sun Mar 18, 2012 8:05 pm

Jon Luscomb put on a fine performance to top the fleet and take home the championship and the Sir Francis of Graham Trophy. For the most part it was summertime weather with light fluky air and we fed the bugs well. Congratulations Jon! Thank you Mark, Carter, Nick, Skip and all of the volunteers that traveled to run this event. It was certainly a fun weekend!

Top three names to go on the trophy:

1st Jon Luscomb
2nd Reichard Kahle
3rd Alan Perkins

Jon,

Nicely done brother O mine. That was a well earned victory as they don't come easy in this class. Their was no shortage of possible winners in that line up.

I almost forgot. Since Reichard is also a member of the Florida Association, we can claim that Florida had a clean sweep. 1,2,3...GO FLORIDA!

Yes, I know, he represented Dixie, but he is a four time Florida Champion and that makes him a Floridian to me.

Now that I have re-entered the atmosphere, Thanks to Mark and his team for running a fun event and to my fellow competitors for rooting for me. I had a blast and was surprised at the results. I did not expect to do anything but learn (which I did) a lot.

It was great to sail with all of you. I have dusted the Sir Francis of Graham Trophy and it is sitting proudly on our mantel!

See you all net March!

By the way - This was our first trip ever to Charleston and Karen and I fell in love with the place!

Best,
Jon Luscomb
