Go to CR914 newsletter of April-July 2002 for an excellent discussion.I opine FM is far superior to AM,and personally prefer JR because they give outstanding customer service.

In my opinion, there is no right or wrong answer to this topic. I have used JR and Hitec radios on my planes. I've had Hitec and Futaba radios on my boats. ALL 3 give great results. I love my Hitec Laser 6. The configuration allows for all of the standard functions with a dial setting on the top of the case that's perfect for the jib trim. The cost factor is great too.
Sounds silly but I also like the analog battery meter over the lights that most other radios of this price range seem to have now.
