Swages

Postby hank571 » Fri Jul 24, 2009 4:49 am

I am looking for a source for #4 swages. (For 1/16" elastic bungee cord).

Also, is there any information on swage numbers, and the inside diameters of them?

Thanks for your help.

Hank,

If you go to Cabela's or another fishing store, you should be able to find what you need.I know on the Cabela's site they do list inside diameters of different size sleeves.

Good luck

Hi,

Here is a series of pix showing how I did it. Don't sweat getting exactly the right size swage; as long as it fits snug when you pull it on the bungee. Don't squeeze too tight.

Berkely Fishing is another source for the sleeves.

I carry Den-Tek dental floss threaders everywhere for easily pulling large stuff through small holes. They come in a snap plastic case for easy storing in the toolbox. You can find them at pharmacy stores.

Try Stretch Magic for the topping lift. The material tends not to get tired like bungee. Can find it at fabric stores or in bead stringing sections at other stores. Get the 1mm size and use a sleeve crimp for the loops.
