New to Forum

Hey guys/gals,
Thought I would introduce myself. Mike Girdley here. Mooresville, IN. I am new to the forum. Used to race 50/800 years ago. I still have, and day sail, my Magic Dragon. Told you it was a long time ago LOL. I have been "collecting" parts to build an EC12 for a good number of years. All that is needed now is a ballast weight and a sail servo. I plan on it being a day sailer since there is no EC12 interest in the area. Racing is out of my blood now anyway. Been there-done that from Snipes to 50/800s. Anyone have any thoughts as to what would be a reasonable priced sail servo that would be suitable for a day sailing EC12? May be a Hitec drum or an old Dumas/Probar winch, if I can find one. Can not justify a RMG.
Later,
Mike

Mike, Did not find YRN number 1790 in the registry. Is that your AMYA number?

You can find cast lead available to fit the class mold boats, but if you have an older hull, you might need to make a mold and cast it yourself. Been there.

Hey Tom,
Good to hear from you. 1790 is the YRN sticker in the hull. Ludwig hull #0004. My old AMYA number was 3214. It is one of the post 1995 hulls. Bought it from Larry in 2006. I did register it at that time. I have been collecting parts and fussing with it and a cradle off and on since. Starting to want to get serious and finish it. It will be a day sailer since there is no EC12 interest in the area. We were very active in 50/800 back in the late '70s and early '80s here in the area. That club kind of went away. Also used to sail with the Tillerman club in Mesa, AZ with my Dad back in the day as well. 50/800 and Newport 12s. Still sail my Magic Dragon (50/800) and a Dumas Huson 36 (36/600) when I get the chance. Love the looks of the EC12.
Later,
Mike

Tom,
15 years ago. I may not have registered the boat. I can't find any records that I did. Guess I need to correct that today.
Thanks,
Mike
