Glad to see Skip got his hole fixed. Good thing he won a winch at the NATS. What about the other Skip?

The regatta is this weekend. I sure hope this is not the total entry list so far.

Come on people. This is a great regatta and you can stay at the yacht club if you get off your butt and let Beth Tumlin know.

Fun challenging regatta. Verywell done by John Muhlhausen and his team. 16 boats. As I remember it, good wind from the left on Saturday morning, building to B or almost B rig when we got back to it after lunch. John called a rig change break after 2 races. The puffs were in the 20s and always from the left. Great racing. Sunday was a day of some wind sometimes from some direction - from the left early on - and then wind or not for the rest of the morning. Very shifty and spotty.

Joe Walter was the class of the regatta with 7 bullets in the first seven races and 11 for the 17 races in the regatta. Other race winners were Tom Phillips (2), Dave Linville, Scott Vernon, Robert Mitchell, and Martin Van Wolfswinkel.

The results after 17 races with 2 drops.
Joe Walter 19
Tom Phillips 49. Not fair. His old lifting keel relic goes very fast in light air and fast enough in heavy wind. We needed more middlin wind range races to foil him. Great going Tom.
Dave Linville 68
Skip Steagall 80
Scott Vernon 83
Ian Elliott 106
Chuck Ellis 115
Robert Mitchell 129
Bill Tumlin 134
Mike Klime in his first regatta with his new pretty red boat. 134. His speed secret is no twist in his jib and not much in his main. A 3rd place on Saturday and another on Sunday.
Martin V W 135
Tom Evans 136
David Pulling
Dennis Headberg
Ann Gates
Don Hackbarth

I want to thank John Muhlhausen and his amazing AYC crew for putting on a fantastic regatta. The Atlanta Yacht Club really rolls out the Red Carpet with Southern charm and hospitality. Skippers are invited to stay for free in one of there many cabins on the property and the venue is a really fun challenge for skippers and race crew alike. Beth Tumlin and her crew of ladies are second to none in cooking and catering to every skipper and when tons of club members showed up at the Saturday night dinner and combined three different events into one big party, it was simply a joy.

We were fed breakfast, lunch and dinner each day including a Friday night welcome dinner. Atlanta is a must attend regatta for every skipper at least once in your sailing career.

To all the EC12 skippers out there. Please do try to come to Atlanta next year or soon after. You will not be disappointed you made the drive.

Love that 'good old boat'. " WildThing, You make my heart sing" 1982 Robin Yachts Treasure Tooling mold.

Atlanta Model Yacht Clubs 'Gone with the Wind' regatta lived up to the name. It was fun and the Atlanta Yacht Club has made a great host to EC12 sailing in Atlanta.
Thanks y'all.
