A bit of advice to all those who will be attending the NCR: You may want to bring long pants, a long sleeved shirt and a jacket or sweater. It will be quite cool in the mornings - lows will be in the upper 30s and highs in the 60s for the regatta (we are not in the deep south here, after all).

Weather fir the NATS looks pretty good

Practice day on Wednesday sunny with winds 10-15
Thursday and Friday should be sunny, highs about 70 and winds 5-10
Saturday looks like possible showers in the morning and winds 5-10

Plan accordingly

We'll take any late entries that want sail !!!!!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone Thursday morning for the start of the 2017 NCR. I won't get into Peachtree City until late Wednesday night so I will miss the practice racing. Everyone please drive safely. This is going to be a lot of fun.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Tom Evans and Dave Linville and company did an absolutely wonderful job running this regatta. The wind was difficult on Thursday and it was very challenging for all. Yes there were some issues and they were talked about. Friday the wind came late but it did come in and sailing was great. We kept it going to 5:00 to make up for lost time. Today was overcast but great wind most of the day and the rain stayed away except for a brief sprinkle. It is raining hard now as I write this. There really was some great racing this weekend. I had a great time. Sorry that we did not post daily reports but we were too busy getting our drink on. The final results are on tap and will be posted to the NCR site after the awards dinner.

Thanks really go out to Dave Linville and his group of amaizing volunteers for putting together an fantastic event. Not just the racing but the help in getting all our gear from our cars to the sailing site, lunches, dinners and thru it all with a smile and that southern hospitality you hear so much about. Thank you.
It should be pointed out that our newest EC12 member Peter Feldman was sailing his first EC12 regatta this weekend. He is a true pleasure to sail with and was in the hunt for winning the regatta at every stage all three days. I look forward to sailing with this quiet gentalmen in the future and feel it is only a mater of time before he take wins the NCR. Well done Peter.
The tight racing saw its share of breakdowns and it's always refreshing to see so many folks aid or assist in the repairs to get boats back on the water. We are lucky that we have a number of skippers that are well versed in the rules and their newances are more than happy to pass this info on to others. Much ablidged guys.

More can be learned by attending the NCR weekend than sailing all year on your local pond. Hopefully more skippers will consider attending these great events in the coming years.

See you all on the water
Dave

Making a remarkable comeback, Danny Thomas actually sailed well on Saturday despite being slightly overpowered by his first VOLCANO Shushi appetizer.

Danny now knows-
WASABI- "Wasabi is generally used as a sauce that makes sushi or other foods more flavorful by adding spice. Its stem is used as a condiment and has an extremely strong pungency more akin to hot mustard than the capsaicin in a chili pepper, producing vapours that stimulate the nasal passages more than the tongue."

That was a huge amount of Wasabi for a single bite and it really did hurt him. He was in pain for hours after it.

I updated the report with the photo of the winners. That was my mistake for leaving it off. I also posted a link to many more great photos by Mike Kline very soon. http://www.ec12.org/2017NCR/Home.html
