Reichard,
You know what business I'm in. Our people are projecting Matthew skirting offshore near you guys on Saturday. Would you mind letting us know your plans Thursday night as to whether it's a 'go or no go" for this weekends regatta? It's a long ways to drive for several of us if you decide to cancel. If it's a go no matter what, I need to change my stays to cables. Thanks!

Second what Skip said. Hate to think of Wisteria cancelled 2 years in a row, but would not like to drive 6 hours and then have it canceled.

My current thoughts right now are to go forward with the event even if we have to postpone for a while Saturday am. We can make up for it and still get plenty of racing in being a single fleet. I don't plan on doing anything stupid risking gear and equipment this close to the Nationals. My greatest concern is for those thinking of driving to Charleston from afar on Friday. If anyone wants to come a day early I have some Pat O'Brien's hurricane mix for a party. Stay tuned for more updates.

Let's all hope and pray for an Easterly turn. Besides not wanting it to hit our regatta, my Mom is in the projected path on the Outer Banks. So Go East Matthew, Go East.

I just realized I had a hotel, but had not registered!
Took care of that, and really hope we can get this one in, especially with Sun City being cancelled.

Just checked NHC and the track of Matthew is more West than hoped for. Looks like it will impact along the Florida coast near the Cape. The good news is it does look like it will turn out to sea along the Georgia coast and may not have too big an effect on Charleston. The bad news is traveling in the weather to get to Charleston.

I am in a wait and see mode right now.

Turn baby turn. Go meet you girlfriend Nicole out in the Atlantic.

******CANCELLED**********CANCELLED********CANCELLED***********

Guys and Gal,

I hate to early call this but once again we are canning the event due to weather. I was hoping Matthew would speed up and turn sooner but at this time the turn appears like it will happen late Friday or early Saturday am. We just cant wait that long to see especially with skippers travelling from out of town. Also at 3:00 this afternoon I-26 will be closed to incoming traffic with all lanes outbound for the duration and all island areas will likely have mandatory evacuation orders. The good news is that I have not spent any of your money yet so I will refund to pay pal for those who entered online.

Sorry!!!!!!!!

Too bad! But it is the right move.

I am going to get with Fran and Tom to put THREE Wisteria Cups on the 2017 schedule to make up for it.

Hate to see Wisteria canceled again but I think it is a wise decision. My wife said "You are going to drive INTO a hurricane to play with your toy boats?"

To all my sailing buddies planning to attend The Wisteria Cup and in the path of Hurricane Matthew!

It's too bad the regatta needed to be cancelled. Thanks Reichard for thinking about the safety and care related to travel and the conditions of our boats if we had sailed (Nationals in just a few weeks.) To all of my fellow skippers and their families in Matthews path, please remember that it is very difficult to beat Mother Nature. In fact you won't. Take care of yourselves and do all that is necessary to come through these next few days with as little damage as is possible. We can play with our toy boats again some other time.

Hang on over there and I'll see some of you in Oxford in a few weeks!
