First day was challenging... The first race of the day the wind was SE at 0.15 knots. The last race of the day the wind was SW 15 knots. Everyone had their ups and downs except for you know who..

I kind of expected the National Champ to be leading, but what happened to Doc Greer and Mr & Mrs Perkins?

Heavy rain and thunderstorms this morning. No racing. Yesterday's results are final.
Congratulations to Sean Fidler and thanks to the Naples regatta team team!

Had a good time at Naples, thanks to all the members who put on the race, especially Dick Hedderick.

In case you long time EC12 sailors don't remember why the class is such a success let me tell you my story. I was looking for a new class and new people to meet and sail with on the east coast and the obvious choice was the EC12. Sean and I decided to go to the Morgan Black and check out the class and I have to say we had a great time. Then we went to the Nationals and it was even more fun. Of course Sean winning made it even more fun for him. So the next event was this past weekend at Naples so we decided to do that too. Again...more fun.

It turns out that my goal to meet good people and have good racing has been exceeded with the EC12 group.

So to everyone reading this, thanks for making the class a fun thing to do, everyone should be proud of the class they are involved with and making it an enjoyable experience for new members to the class.

Ted

P.S. Sean and our friend Jerry Leonard have started a new club in Michigan in a beautiful park (Kensington Metro Park) with a nice size lake. Sean is planning two events this summer, one in April and another in July. Details and firm dates to follow. I promise you they will be fun events and good sailing. We have about 10 boats already in Michigan so the class is growing fast in our area.
