Day 2 Report
Day two began under threatening skies and moderate “B” Rig winds. As predicted by Race Director, Ken Miller, the impending storm split and went around us bringing only a very light rain shower which conveniently took place during the lunch break. The winds , however, were not as cooperative reducing steadily throughout the day with numerous course changes required. Racing was suspended after Race #29 in near drifting conditions.
Day 1 leader Sean Fidler managed to open a small margin over Alan Perkins with Dave Ramos closing in from third. Dave Brawner had a very steady day in fourth. Ted Flack remained in fifth. A close battle for sixth continued between Ken Shaw and Bernie Pepin.
Rounding out the top ten were Liz Perkins, Gary Bugden from Nova Scotia and Jeff Fullerton from London, Ontario.
Tomorrow’s forecast calls for 15 mph winds gusting to 28 mph with rain. This should prove to make a most interesting end to the Regatta.
