Hey Captain Linville - are you going to have your "special juice" - wouldn't mind having another little slurp.

Tom - you will need to add Kiwiland to your "state list" next week

Just got back from the Peachtree City regatta. I think you should see three more entries from Georgia coming soon.

I guess with Chris coming from New Zealand that puts away the excuse that Florida is too far away from Chicago. :D This is really shaping up to be a great field for this regatta. The last minute entries are going to make this interesting. See you there.

Hotel Information other than listed on the website:

I have booked 8 days ($548 for just me) at the Red Roof Inn South on I-94 in Northbrook. Not only is it my favorite hotel when traveling, the RR offers discounts to seniors, AAA and other card holders. Additionally, they do not play the "Nonrefundable" rate game which the Super 8 is doing nearer the lake. RR rates are lower than their lowest.

RR rate for senior or AAA are $56.51 for a king bed and $58.31 for 2 full beds.

Okay - all flights from NZL are CONFIRMED - I am coming folk.
Looking forward to this sojourn and the catch up again. Entry to be finalised before closing date as possibility of sailing other boats as well.

Arrive Chicago late evening Thursday 11th and depart lunchtime Sunday 21st via O'Hare.

P.S NZL has also confirmed in the last couple of hours their America's Cup entry - Go the Kiwis!

Dave Linville aren't you coming? I don't see you on the registered skipper list.

Who is going to get Pinky in trouble?

Time to get this party started....

The venue is in great shape!! There appears to be an option for every wind direction and strength. All three lakes and many different shorelines are usable. The water level is even up about a foot above normal making launching for all classes easy.

Bring warm clothes. It's cold up here. After spending last weekend sailing in the nineties, get ready for morning temps in the forties. Many have spent the afternoon shopping for heavier clothing.

We start tomorrow with 32 Solings sailing using their preferred odd/even system. The Chicago Model Yacht Club appears to have everything under control. I get to call the starting line and keep score this weekend.

This all started with one question to Rob Hill...how about a race week in Chicago? It's been fun watching an idea come together. The locals have done a great job.

Let's push that big red button....two minutes to mark
