I thought I've seen photos of Mystic regattas. Can't seem to find them on discussion pages. How does the wind blow?I remember a "Gone With the Wind"@20+, and Newport with none to 20+. Anyone want to guess(help a neophyte)with what to expect at Mystic?

Hi Bob,
Looking forward to sailing with you again....
Breeze is typically S-SW 5-10kts at Mystic. That being said, I would still bring my B rig....
See you there,
Chuck

Bob,
Mystic doesn't tend to be the ocean racing conditions we lived through at Newport. The range of conditions are more like Charleston without the long walk.
Has anyone mentioned the Sabino to you? We may not have to deal with her this year. There is nothing like racing with the Sabino between you and your boat.

Dude! Are you really dissing a "National Historic Landmark"? O.K. John D tells me we are north of her usual route so i'am hoping DHL gets me there in time to be rigged.Packed a "B".Looking forward to seeing you guys again.

I would be less worried about the Sabino and more worried about DHL getting you boat there in one piece. Have you forgotten Skip Allen's DHL adventure?[:D]

Bob,
The Sabino is a steam powered model muncher.
There is an excellent webcam showing the Mystic River. It's just south of where we are sailing but you can get the idea.

Current weather for the two days has the breeze S-SW at 7. The dock front is SW which means we will have a nice course layout. So Bob, bring your B rig for sure. This is New England....

Although we are sailing North of the Sabino's normal route, I spoke with the skipper and he was more than happy to deviate from his route to come up and find sail #53! Dave LOVES the Sabino! We are going to need all the help we can get!
We are also going to have a very competitive group with some really great sailors. We will have another new face among us. Chuck Poindexter sail #35. He has sailed his new boat twice in the last two weeks but don't let that fool you. He is a very good big boat sailor and should be able to slide into the Frey pretty easily.
Dave Van Cleef will be joining again. His boat is under construction in my shop and should be ready for the Thunder Mug. He will be sailing #13 which is Kevin McLellan's new RMD boat. He sailed the boat for the first time last week and pretty much beat the lot.
See you all next week!
