Great News for 2009 Worlds

Postby Capt. Flak » Tue Apr 01, 2008 12:01 pm

The company I work for headquartered here in Jacksonville Florida is a $2 billion dollar staffing, consulting and business services company. In the last year we have expanded into more cities in Europe including Eastern Europe as well as new office openings in Hong Kong, Singapore and now in Australia and soon in New Zealand. I work in the marketing department and have sealed a deal with management to sponsor the 2009 Worlds event in Charleston. They feel this is a good way to spread the word about our business to folks who can bring the word back to their countries, plus it is in line with their Corporate support of local clubs and charities.

The company will provide plenty of swag in the form of shirts, hats, and other specialty items. But the really big news is they will help offset the cost of travel for the competitors as well as pay for the awards dinner.

The amount of the the sponsorship is not yet fixed, but we have been talking about a $30,000 amount or over $800 per skipper. I am so excited about this.

That was better than me telling my kids we are going to Chuckie Cheese for dinner.

Hi Joe,
At least you’ve found some people that might be interested in that piece of land you have to the Northwest of Jacksonville. Just be sure to show it to them in late August.
Regards,
Frank

Joe,
That was good. Hook line and sinker.
But the idea was there so I called Nike and asked if they could use it to promote the Jarlieware line. I was rerouted until all I got was laughter and then a dial tone. So maybe we should push Mark R to ask Mary Kay Cosmetics to sponsor us like they do his boat "Pinky". Or maybe Dave B could ask Apple the same thing since they sponsor his hatch cover along with his Chiquita or Dole Banana transom...

All joking aside, my company did give me $500 to help offset the cost of the lifeguards at the 2005 Nationals in Disney World. I will hit them up again for a donation next year. No promises, but they have been good to me, so we shall see.
