Time is getting close to get your entry in to the 35th Annual Liberty Bell Regatta. So, when you send your check off to the taxman, send in your entry as the deadline is April 17. As of this writing, we have 9 boats entered. Prior to the regatta, I'll send an email with the frequency assignments so you will have time to set up your radios accordingly.

While you guys in the Northeast are shivering, I'll be off to Jamaica for a week. When I return, I hope to see a lot of entries stuffed in my mailbox!

Mike

Thanks Dog, you guys got our wind quota for the season. The next club races will probably be back to those flukey puffs Mt. Laurel is so well know for. Hey, if ya can't sail there, ya can't sail anywhere.[:D]

Now why didn't you tell me there was going to be wind? Maybe I travelled in the wrong direction but I wanted to work on my tan in the Florida sun. Glad to see that the Liberty Bell was a good one.

Where was Dr. W in the video or was that Pinky sailing in B?

Dr. W was somewhere in the back which was unusual for him. The only reason we gave him back the cup was that he didn't polish it before he came up for the regatta. Next year he has no excuse to not get the cup polished. There was no B fleet for Pinky to sail in, we tossed 16 boats out there all at once. We used a windward, leeward course, turning on two of three marks at the top which were adjusted for any wind shifts and had a gate at the bottom. Depending on the advantage, the skippers had a choice of either a port or starboard rounding for the bottom mark. It worked really well and cut down on the confusion at the lower mark. The winds were excellent, giving us a nice, long course. At one point, we had boats spread over the entire pond, all hauling the mail to the top mark.

Yes, you missed a great regatta. See you in Mt. Laurel next year???
