VALENTINES REGATTA
Feb 18 & 19 2023
This will be the second year that the Palm Beach Gardens Model Yacht Squadron is holding the regatta at the Hobe Sound Farmers Market pond.
The L shaped large pond allows great competitive sailing courses no matter what the wind direction.
Registration closes on February 8, a week from now. This is as we must let the pond owner know who is coming and have submitted release forms well in advance.
Register now at the AMYA Regattas site: https://www.theamya.org/RegattaDetail.asp?RGID=10095
The NOR said "The entry time for this regatta is open to the day of the regatta" BUT THAT WAS AN ERROR. You must register by Feb 8 2023
The new methodology the AMYA has for registrants seems to be working well now, but if you need help my contact info is there.

If you weren't at the Hobe Sound Farmers Market Pond you missed a great regatta. Saturday was wild with B rigs and sometimes wishing for the C rig. Winds from the frozen north had found their way to the pond and breakdowns were happening. The courses set by PRO Jon Luscomb were quite perfect windward leeward 2-1/2 laps. The EC12 can have a mind of its own in these conditions and sail where it wants to, not where you wish it to go. Skippers met the challenges in a friendly but competitive way.

Sunday was a beautiful Florida day with moderate Easterly winds. Sailing was from the palm lined south sandy beach shore. Again great courses.
My boat was disabled on Sat so a shot some video.

Check out:

It is in 4k 2160p high resolution, make sure to select that in the settings. The video follows the entire race until seconds before the first boat finishes when I ran out of memory car space.
Best to watch it on your large screen TV if can set up that. Hang in to the end to see the final regatta results.
