I know there are more people coming to this regatta. I also know we are going to miss at least two who have plans for the Seawind NCR. But we need you guys to fill out the entries and make your plans now.
Peachtree City has a very nice venue with great sailing and a fun party. Don't miss out. People are working hard for you. Let them know you are coming.

Let's go people. Sign up today. We need to get a good turnout or it might need to be cancelled. Where are all the local skippers?

This regatta was a lot of fun despite the heat and very little wind. Tom Evens and company did another great job putting on the event. The Friday night party at his house was so much fun with great food by Lou English and Tom Evens and home brewed beer by Dave Linville. Also an amazing carrot cake from Linda Ellis.

Congrats to Alan Perkins on his win. Dave and I studied his style, tactics and tuning and all weekend and I think we may be gaining on him. Watch out for us at the next regatta Alan.

A very big congratulations to Liz Perkins on taking home her first ever trophy in the EC12 Class. She was in 4th place on Saturday and only just lost out to a hard charging Jack Shepard by just 0.2 points.

Everyone sailed well in very difficult conditions. The most breeze we had was maybe 3 knots with a lot of drifting in between. Great seeing everyone again. We will work harder next year to make sure we have a date with fewer conflicts so the turnout will be better. I know for a fact there would have been 5 more skippers if not for the conflict (and some unfortunate health issues for two).

One last note. Welcome George Willis to the EC12 Class. George sails out of the Atlanta Yacht Club and we are glad he is joining us.

I have to thank each and everyone one that competed at the Peachtree City Regatta for making it a great event for the patience you all showed a new skipper. I promise not to crowd the fleet next time .. promise. As it was said at the dinner Saturday " I wouldn't want to be anywhere else than with you bunch ....." I'm going to leave out the last part of it because I don't want to get flagged on my 1 post and all. I learned some great tips, watched some great sailing (from the back mostly), met some great people.

See you in Charleston next month.
