The list has grown to 33 skippers with just 3 more to reach the posted limit of 36 entries. That limit may be subject to change if we see more interest. Hurry folks.

Final Warning:

Tomorrow is the final day for entering the Nationals in Punta Gorda. The original 36 boat limit has been reached, but I have heard there is at least one drop out so far and I talked to the crew at Punta Gorda and we have agreed to go to 37 total entries. So if you want to sail, you need to get your entry in by midnight tomorrow night. That is October 27.

The seeding heat assignments will be posted to the NCR site shortly after that.

This is going to be fun folks. Great weather with parking right at the shoreline. Just back up your vehicle, pull out your boat and set up your chair.

See you there.

What a great day in Punta Gorda. Art Hawes and company have done a great job on the first day of racing. The first day results are posted on the NCR site here: http://www.ec12.org/2018NCR/Home.html

Hot and stick today. But what do you expect in south Florida. Challenging conditions but Art set a good course and handled the shifts well.

Looking forward to the dinner gathering tonight and more great sailing tomorrow.

Congratulations to Peter Feldman on his great win. He was the only skipper not to drop out of A-fleet. The full results will update shortly. If not, I will fix the issue after the Awards Banquet.

A big shout out to the Sun Coast Model Yacht Club and their devoted and efficient team of folks who gave us a wonderful experience in the park. You had nothing to do with the heat and the, ahem, WIND but the best guy won, as it should be. Handily, I might add. Congratulations to Peter, who is an honorary member of our Vagabonds. Nine guys in one house was a total blast and having Chris Harmer from Kapiti Radio Yacht Club in New Zealand with us on and off the water was a special treat. Great sharing the experience with you Chris.

A personal thanks to Carter Challen of the host club who splashed and hauled my boat for four days. He did it with a smile and spring to his step. Much appreciated, Carter, and keep up the progress in your Soling racing and I'll see you for the RC Laser regatta in February.

Lastly, to Joe Walter and Scott Graf: Christopher and Stephan said to say hi and "what's up..."

Ditto to what Branning said. The regatta committee did an OUTSTANDING job putting on this event. An extremely friendly group of people. The wind was awful, and Race Director Art did as well and anyone could have. Congrats to Peter who simply sailed superbly regardless of the breeze. Thank You Sun Coast Model Yacht Club for having me.
