Day 1 results have DT leadiing with Perkins close behind in second, Walter in third and a tight battle between Kahle, Linville and Gerry for the next spots. Tomorrow will make it or break it for some. It was a cold day with temps in the mid 40's sailing the Northern shoreline of the lake. Stay tuned for full results tomorrow.

I made a spread sheet with race by race scores but could not figure out how to post it here so what is above is what you get.

A full report will be coming soon but as you can tell DT was on fire with Perkins finishing second and Walter beating Linville in a tie breaker for third. It was a chilly weekend but the wind speed and direction gave us some great competitive races with many lead changes.

This regatta was so much fun, despite the cold weather. It would not have been so bad on Saturday had the ground not been so wet and mushy. My feet were soaked through two layers of socks and the bottom of my pants were muddy and wet. The wind chill made it worse. But the sailing was simply great and nobody seemed to care about the cold. I finally cut the thumbs off my expensive pair of gloves so I could keep my hands warm and still work the sticks.

Danny and Alan were putting on a show and the rest of us were just trying to hang with them. Then Danny turned on the after burners on Sunday. Thanks again to Randy and his crew for running a great regatta. The stay in the cabin was great with my wife and daughter and her friend. The Christmas lights were the icing on the cake, except when we were trying to get out of the park to go to dinner. You need to plan on a half hour at least just to get to the gate.

Sunday was Chamber of Commerce weather except for it being colder, but with the bright sun and nice breeze, it felt warmer than Saturday. Just a wonderful weekend. Thanks Charleston.
