The Sun City Regatta was held on October 7 and 8 , 2017 in beautiful Sun City, South Carolina.
This was the region 3 regional regatta, and some last minute entries filled the field to a respectable 15 competitors.
Lake Somerset served up the usual surprises, but Regatta Director Dale Smith was able to keep the racing moving and 17 races were run.
Kahle was to tough for the competitive field, and is the Region 3 champion.

This was another fantastic regatta and party at Sun City. Fran and Dale and Al and Tim and all the folks who scored and chased boats (and sank the chase boat) and all the ladies who made such wonderful food, it was just great. Sorry about my poor attempt to post a photo of the score sheet on Saturday night. I did not know how to resize the photo on my phone.
This was a really close regatta for me and Reichard and Chuck until Dale could not seem to get my number out of his head when calling me OCS twice in a row. I am sure there was some exchange of money. If I see Dale driving a new Cadillac, I will know for sure. But seriously, you all did a great job and I am so glad the regatta was not cancelled.
