FYBOR 6

Postby DBrawner » Thu Oct 06, 2016 3:17 pm

Saturday, December 3rd....FYBOR 6....Laurel Acres Park, MT Laurel, NJ
Like usual, we can pretty much guarantee crappy weather, poor sailing conditions and even worse race management. However, we will all eat Nick's chili and leave happy.

Register early. The last 5 entrants will be assigned to the line of excellence!!

Registration link: https://www.jotformpro.com/form/62788772125971?preview=true

NOR: I doubt it.
SI's: Even less likely. Show up at 9 and we'll figure it out from there.

We already have a nice fleet size. Last call for entries. Entry Deadline will be this Saturday 11/19

Wonder if I waited long enough for the line of excellence? :P

Bringing mukluks, snowshoes, survival kit and skis. I might have room for the boat. Oh, and a C rig.

Guys, remember to sail for last place to get the good stuff first. [8D]

Wow...another great FYBOR...now up to #6. Terrific winds and a variety of courses to test your listening skills. Thanks to David for shaping this into a end of season delight. Thanks go to Nick Mortgu for the prizes, gifts and chili lunch and to the cookie lady, Lisa Brawner, who treated us to yummy christmas cookies. For the hundreds of you who missed this one...AGAIN....don't miss it next year.

I wish I had made it to the regatta. My fault, my loss. Rats! But what happened to all the cameras? Pictures?

The FYBOR is a one day regatta that isn't meant to be taken seriously. It's more a celebration at the end of the season and a chance to try new things. The Line of Excellence, the CESS pool, the free floating weather mark and the penalty mark have all been used at the FYBOR. Some ideas work and some don't. Oh well, that's life. This is the only regatta that punishes you for doing well.

It was a breezy cold day with the wind out of the NW that gave us a good race course for the 17 boat fleet.

As always, Nick Mortgu was the superstar handling all the important stuff like food, goodies and prizes. Truthfully, the sailing is secondary to Nick's chili and getting to select from his prize table. Nick is the person that makes this regatta so special. We owe him a big thank you once again!!

First 5 to register and sail were awarded plates of Christmas cookies:
1. Dave Branning
2. Skip Hall
3. Jim Flach
4. Harry Mote
5. Roger Baldwin

First 5 prize selectors:
1. Mr. Joseph Cole
2. Bill Sysyn
3. Mike Denest
4. Skip Hall
5. Ken Shaw

First 5 finishers:
1. Dave Ramos
2. Jamey Betz
3. Harry Mote
4. Don Barker
5. Dave Branning
