15 great races are on the scoresheet with flat water and wind. Tomorrow will not only decided the regatta but the Colonial Cup as well. It's still tight between Ramos, Thomas and Betz.

Some videos from today. All are on the Chesapeake Bay Model Racing Association Facebook page.

Well, we here in Annapolis are witnessing a fantastic battle with day one completed and in the books. While the sailing was hot, the weather was not. A steady NE breeze of 10-15 brought with it that annoying mist all day and the sun decided to stay home. The sailors were well behaved through 15 first day races with only one general recall which had three set of tangles at the start. A couple of boats suffered through minor breakdowns and at the end of the day all boats were still on the water for most of the races. Big thanks go out to Dave Ramos, Danny and Jamey for helping other skippers keep 'em sailing.

The top spots are separated by less than 10 points so it's still anyone's trophy. There are many mini battles in the ranks with small point differentials leaving the final standings possibly very different.

The board through day one (before throw outs) looks as such:

Danny Thomas
Jamey Betz
Dave Ramos
Dave Branning
Jim Flach
Dave Hammett
Rick Boulay
Dave Littleton
Tim Stone
Roger Baldwin

Annapolis Regatta Final

The 8th Annual Annapolis Regatta, region 2's final Colonial Cup showdown, remains a viable challenge. Don't forget to put this one on your calendar next year! Those missing region members missed perfect wind conditions on Saturday and exciting variable winds on Sunday which allowed the skippers many tactics options. We were able to put 5 additional races in today. The camaraderie of the Region 2 skippers is second to none and we all had a fantastic time during our early lunch today while the wind clocked about 120 degrees. I would like to give a shout out to Ernest Freeland, who was instrumental helping on the front side of the regatta and handled most of the preparations needed to make this a successful regatta.

The results show many of the points differentials were small enough after day one to see some standings changes after the final races today. I think region 2 skippers are ready for the nationals later on this month.

The final results are below:

Danny Thomas 28
David Ramos 32
Jamey Betz 36
Jim Flach 72
David Branning 75
David Hammett 101
Tim Stone 123
Roger Baldwin 134
Rick Boulay 135.2
David Littleton 137 (Did not sail on Sunday)

What a great time even if mother nature did not have the sun out to shine down on us.
The Warrington Farm Pond is an absolutely fantastic venue and we look forward to getting back their on a more regular basis next year.
Thank you Scott Graf for RD'ing the regatta Ernest Freeland and everything you both did to make this regatta such a great time.
Congratulation to DT for a well sailed regatta. It is always a pleasure to sail with everyone from Region 2 as well as Tim Stone that took the time to come down from VT.

There are a number of Great videos shot by Ernest Freeland of the sailing on line at my CPM Face book page and the CBMRA Facebook page so check them out.
