We are a month away and the registrations have hit 34 boats as of 9/28. Good show but we could use a few more of you who are looking for open water excitement, spirited competition and first class hospitality at Tred Avon YC. The crab cakes are awesome.
We have had tremendous support for drawing items to refresh and/or replace your inventory of sails and support items.
Those of you who have shopped around for rental housing have found success close by the yacht club. Although the regatta hotel has a great rate, there is something to be said for a bunk a few hundred yards from the venue...on the water.....with a great view. Here's one such B & B from travelzoo.com that is 50 yards from the YC entrance https://www.travelzoo.com/local-deals/Washington-DC/Getaway/234522/?utm_source=top20_us&utm_medium=email&utm_content=2340244&utm_campaign=us_top20_2016_38_deal%3a2340244&tz_adid=2340244
We are planning for beautiful fall weather on the Eastern Shore and hope that, if you are on the fence, will consider a road trip to join us. Forty boat limit and room for you.

I emailed with Dave Dellenbaugh the other day and he too was interested, but not sure of plans. I hope he can make it as well.

Since I can not celebrate my 70th birthday eating conch salad and drinking Nassau Royale in the Bahamas because of hurricane Matthew. I am going to delay my birthday and come up and eat Crab Cakes and drink lots of Island Rum and pain pills. :P :P After the Nat's I am taking Dee some where she all ways wanted to go Niagara Falls and then home through the Blue Ridge mountains, and no I will not be building anything for a month.

Last minute reminders:

Ahoy EC12 NCR Skippers:

A week to go and the forecast for great weather and exciting competition is ahead next week. Here are a few last minute details and reminders.

Sailing Instructions were sent to the registered skippers via email.

1. Most Important: Speed limits approaching Oxford go from 50 to 40 to 25 and remain 25mph as you wander through the town. PLEASE HEED the SPEED.

2. When you arrive at TAYC on Wednesday you will be able to drive around to the water side and unload for practice sailing. Your car will then be parked in front of the club as soon as you unload. We want to keep the water side free of vehicles as much as possible. Stop in the club for your check-in after you park the car.

3. We have rented a 20' x 30' tent with side flaps for overnight storage. You do not have to schlep your boat out to the car. It can remain rigged and ready to go for the next day's racing. There should be room for extra sail storage as well.

4. Almost all of you have said you are coming to the Wednesday night reception. We have a full bar, a keg of beer (that's free) and a couple of dinner choices to make your evening fun. And, as a bonus, we have several items of significant value offered in drawings that will peak your interest. Bring a roll of twenties, we will have another night of drawings on Saturday with another batch of items you will want.

5. On your on line registration you might have selected guest meals that you wanted. Some of you may now be bringing a guest that we do not know about. Let me know if you are now bringing a guest, especially for the Saturday awards banquet. The YC will need an exact count early next week.

6. Jib Numbers: The following is a skipper list with Jib Numbers. Three of you were asked to add a one (1) to your jib(s) and I appreciate you doing that. All of you, please check to make sure I have your correct jib number as I would just ONCE like to print an AMYA score sheet that is perfect from the start. So far, in 7 years, I've never got it perfect.
