Just registered.
Looking forward to some fun next month.
Only two Dixie cup regattas left before the Looooong summer break.
I'd love to see my old friends here in NC, especially as I have been stymied when trying to get to the other Dixie regattas for the last year...
Don't worry about HB2 - we'll encourage anyone to sail :P

Quick post with the results. Full regatta report upcoming soon.

13 Skippers made the call to the line for the start of the event. Gerry Cobley recovers from early breakage to win the 2016 Soak at the Oak Regatta. Winds were favorable on Saturday, and we missed the thunderstorms before and after we sailed. As the cold front passed through, the wind clocked around from the north, causing very difficult conditions for sailors and race staff. 15 races were completed on Saturday, and another 10 races were completed Sunday morning. This allowed for 3 throwouts. We had two skippers pass on Sunday's racing, and another suffered a radio failure on Sunday.

1. Gerry Cobley 29
2. David Linville 51
3. Scott Vernon 88
4. Chuck Millican 100
5. Ken Williams 114
6. Alan Morris 140
7. Lew English 145
8. Ron Small 162
9. Tom Linville 178
10. Martin Rexius 187 (Radio Failure)
11. Dennis Headberg 211
12. Scott Davis 222 (Saturday only)
13 Bob Mersereau 316 (Saturday only)

Thanks to all who participated, including the competitors, guests, and the race staff of Jamie Helander (Assistant RD/Scorekeeper), Clint Collins, and George and Glenn Morris. The full scale Yacht Club was having their monthly racing event on Saturday, and a Family Fun Day on Sunday, We had many spectators show up both days, and they were commenting on how exciting the racing was, and how clean and cordial everyone was at the event, I was extremely impressed with the level of sportsmanship exhibited during the event. Especially on Sunday, when the wind went from nothing to everything from multiple directions. All protests were handled on the water in a timely manner.
