Happy New Year to all!!!

It is once again time to start putting together the list of competitors for the 2016 Champions Regatta which will be held in Charleston, SC at the James Island County Park on March 12th and 13th. Below you will find the list of the top 5 qualifiers in each of the four participating series from last season. As soon as I compile my mailing list, I will send a message to each skipper listed with the NOR attached asking them to accept the invitation or pass and then we will start going down the stand by list in each series up to 10th place to fill the field.

I would like to thank Dave Branning for stepping up as your RD for this years event. Even though he qualified in 2nd place for the Colonial Cup and 5th in New England, he is still on the slow road to recovery from back surgery and not quite up for competition yet. I just sent a message out to our local club looking for more volunteers but if you know of anyone who did not qualify and would like to make the trip to come help out please let Dave or myself know.

Also, at this time the park still has cabins available so if anyone would like for me to make arrangements taking advantage of the Charleston County Resident discount, I would be happy to do so.

With a month to go here is a brief update.

Unfortunately, Dave Branning is in need of further back surgery and is unable to be with us to act as your RD. We all wish you the best of luck with that Dave and hope you get back on the water soon! Dave's help and back up is unable to make the trip as well so I may end up being RD. Quite a few regular champs have busy work schedules or honey do lists and have had to decline but the rest of us plan on having a kick ass time! I will continue to update the list above so check back in.

With 11 races sailed in light to medium winds from the southwest here are the standings before throw outs. In case anyone is confused, Linville was going to be RD but at the last minute David Brawner offered to stop off in Charleston on his way back home from attending Laser regattas in FL. Thank you David for helping us out this weekend and Linville, glad you brought your boat.
