The Morgan-Black will be hosted by Canada outside Windsor, Ontario.
Registration and Practice Wed Afternoon Sept 16, Racing Thurs Sept 17, Friday Sept 18, Saturday Sept 19 with dinner and trophies after.
This will be at a major sports venue with the water and facilities excellent. Ken Miller, of the Windsor sailing group, is heading the regatta team. This will be announced formally to all countries with EC12s sailing in a few weeks.

This will be the fourth event of the MB with Canada rounding out the nations that recognized the EC12 in their national sailing authority. The event is sailed every three years. 2019 will be in Europe and I may be dead from trying. If not it will go to New Zealand where the first event was held in 2006.

Mark you digital calendars.

Is there a qualification process for this event similar to the allocation of places in other classes?
Or, is it more open, if you measure, you can sail?

Additionally, what is required for measuring in an event like this. Given that the 12 is different internationally, what set of rules do you need to comply with in order to qualify?

Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the US have rules for the EC12. Europe has been supplied with hulls from the US. If a boat is accepted by the country's class or sailed from a recognized EC12 producer of hull, it will be accepted at the Morgan Black.

The event is for a gathering of EC12 sailors from around the world. Officialism is not part of the program. It is almost like, "if it looks like a 12, it is a 12." The Windsor club hosting is across the river from Detroit and sail in the US frequently. It will be like another EC12 regatta but without the stiff collar stuff.

There is no qualification process internationally or by recognized class.

I am a yes,if I can ask Chuck Luscomb to measure in "Blue Moon" under our new policy.
We in Palm Beach ,Fl had a measure party where almost everyone's boat was good within the new rules;except my new boat-too fat.Off with that deck and on with the new.

Really Bob?

How fat is too fat... Be careful now, she is a lady. So at the shear, she was too wide? Do you have the numbers?

We measured with calipers first-gathering the widest measurements usually as most boats here are post 95 hulls and thus few with much,if any "tumblehome".
If that was not within specs we measured at the hull deck joint. We used millimeters vs inches-thus +/- 6mm. I've given the tech sheets to Jon but I think 2100 was + 4 mm around stations 35-45.

John,
Sorry for my ignorance and lack of skills after computer use since 1978 but this PDF registration defeats me then sending it to you. I can pay you with PayPal but cannot get the rest done. I will be there.
