Folks, I have it on good authority that the entries for Race Week, the EC12 NCR and really all four of the classes hosting their NCRs is not quite what was expected at this point.

I can't stress to you enough how much work goes in to planning and running these events. Knowing who is coming as early as possible will make a huge difference in what each skipper will experience at the regatta.

Please look at your calendar today and make your plans now. Maybe you are planning on going, but because the regatta is still several months away, you just have not taken the time to register. Early registration helps the race staff plan better and it also lets other skippers know who is coming and may help promote the event even more.

While you guys weren't looking, we have been assembling one of the most competitive NCR fields ever. There are 5 past NCR Champions planning on coming with a sixth still trying to get there. Add in the future champions that we have been milling around Region 1 & 2 and this is going to be exciting to say the least.

I can understand if you stay home because you're scared..... :D

Dave,
The regatta hotel is the Holiday Inn Express within walking distance of the lake. All the info is on the Chicago MYC website. The link is in the first post.

While you're taking people out drinking, don't forget to get DT and Pinky as they have 5 and 2/3 championships between them. You'll have to ask DT about the fraction over a couple adult beverages. :D

Hey Linville, Your tactics are flawed. You can't just come out and say what you're thinking, you need to catch us by surprise. Stealth my friend!!!!! DT knows the deal, it is Pinky that we need to work on. Chugga...Chugga...Choo...Choo!!!

Glad to see there is some hype going on. I am staying at the Super 8 as I have to drive to the lake anyway, even the Holiday Inn. While this is a Race Week it is still the 2014 NCR for the class; you do not have to be there for the entire 9 days. Support for the NCR in less frequented venues is important for those local and the class in promoting the EC12 and RC sailing. Vernon Hills is a premier venue that rivals Charleston. David Brawner has made a major effort with this event in the three classes EC12 folks support. Oh yes, the Solings...

Put me on your list for a gathering Dave Linville, look forward to it. Uh, it is a few months for DT to really show but he is fun at the party and the lake. :D

Dave L, You'll have to work on the others as I don't drink anymore..... Hmmm really, let's ponder on that for a minute.. Rick W, I guess you're tying to poke and ping to see if it'll happen. Again, I guess we'll have to think on it for a bit. Too fun. The plan is for me to be there. When you get a call and request from our fearless leader, if at all possible it needs to be answered. Will need to get the rust knocked off a bunch though.

I don't drink anymore...I didn't say, I don't drink any less.

Looks like the list is starting to grow some. I wish I could make it. Hopefully more from Florida will get there.
