VALENTINE'S DAY REGATTA - FEBRUARY 16 &17. 2013

Postby Jon Luscomb » Mon Dec 10, 2012 10:08 am

The Valentine's Day Regatta will be proudly hosted by the Palm Beach Gardens Model Yacht Squadron and held on February 16 & 17, 2013.

I can't Wait!

Trophies of unparalelled taste and distinction will be given to the top 4 in each fleet. In passed years we seemed to win over our competitors with our homemade gormet chile as prepared by Chef Jon of Chez EC12. On Sunday, we are asking that all be wearing RED shirts to obsearve the holiday ( Scott will we see you?) That is Observers, sailors and race staff.....The Racing format will be the Florida 2 fleet system ( A & B )

This regatta has always been considrered a "must do" on the Florida Circut. Lake Katherine is a fantasic venue and has given excellent sailing conditions and square courses consistantly. I am challenging some of the far north sailors who will be in the winter doldrums and looking quite pale to pack up, come on down and get some sun (especially those related to the RD with a black boat to show up! :) ) ! The Notice of Race has been posted on the Florida EC-12 website.

Slated to appear:

1. Al Dion
2. Bob Greer
3. Dick Hedderick
4. Dick Reinke
5. Alan Perkins
6. Frank Vella
7. Earnan Scavella
8. Chester Brewer

Jon,

Definitely.

Two years ago I was the only person not wearing a red shirt.

Last year I thought red shirts were a tradition. NOT. I was the only person wearing a red shirt.

But Scott, you looked so good in Red.

Dog will be gone, I plan to be there, with gloves so I won't need 'em.
How 'bout it Dave Ramos, gonna make the mid winter??

Our house can handle it and are looking forward to a really fun group.
Might have to do a "Taco Party" if we get enough interest.

Black boat 82 is coming...... If anybody has a spare lift carrier I could borrow, please bring it along. I forgot mine in Michiigan. Need to borrow for both the PB and the Orlando regatta.... Can we go back to the outdoor bar on the river again?

Olly Olly in free, Olly Olly in free, calling all sailors, calling all sailors!!

Pack your cars and DRIVE SOUTH to Margaritaville and leave the doldrums of the slowest, grayist and most depressing time of year behind!

Time is passing fast and we need a solid head count for the Saturday night dinner. PLEASE send your entry checks in ASAP!
I am looking forward to seeing all of you and putting on another fantasic event. I have seen the trophies for both classes and they truly are of unparralleled taste and distinction.....chilie is slow cookin' in the pot and the deserts are home baked and sinful.

Best! and remember RED is the new BLACK
