The 2012 Wisteria Cup Regatta, which is also the Region 3a Championship is coming up fast with a little over a month to go. It is scheduled on October 13th and 14th. Unfortunately at this time all of the cabins at the park are booked so I would look into the many hotels located on Savannah Highway (US17). Some of these are listed on the NOR and entry form. If you have any questions or would like for me to send you an entry form, please contact me.

The NOR with entry form is posted on the regatta schedule page http://www.ec12.org/Regattas/2012/2012-Wisteria.pdf and online entry is available at http://www.amya.spruz.com .

Martin,

Sorry, not sure what is going on in Charleston that weekend other than being a nice town to visit. In the past everyone has scattered to hotels around town and the cabins. Next year I will try to block out some rooms somewhere with a reasonable rate.

19 Boats it is! All registered skippers will get an email this evening with Sailing Instructions and dinner info for both nights. A change was made in the SI which will allow us to sail in a single fleet with 19. Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend and for those of you at home watching football, I will try to stay on top of updates here.

We are down to 17 boats now. Dick Gerry withdrew after coming home from Maine with a cold he can't kick and Delta Airlines gave Rick West the middle finger.

Charleston Harbor forecast for Saturday calls for NE winds 15 to 20, gusts to 25. That is straight down the shoreline towards doggie land. Hope we get some good wipe out pics.

Yes, as expected, this event has been good practice for many leading up to the Nationals. Practice at breaking stuff and fixing it. Great job Reichard for a fun regatta. I'm proud to have won the Wisteria Cup (I think). Will someone let me know if I'm the best of the worst or worst of the best? Congrats Baron for the win and great job Becky for some great sailing. She always kept telling me "sorry, sorry" while steaming past me. All I can say is, Ricky wil you marry me? so I can sail a fast boat? LOL, JK

Congratulations to Baron; Ricky and John and of course to David Linville on winning the Wisteria cup with style.

Thank you Reichard and team for putting on a super regatta and providing the Lunches and breakfast plus keeping score etc..
It was a very enjoyable week-end and the fact that most boats survived the Saturday 20 Knot puffs is a testament to the quality of the skippers sailing.

Sunday turned out to be a prettier day on the pond but as the breeze increased so did the difficulty in reading the course ....but that's Charleston..!!

Sorry to have had to rush off without saying farewells to all as I have an early flight this morning.

Hope to see you all in Jacksonville for the Nationals.

Martin Trish and Carmel.
