Hey Everyone!

The 2012 edition of the Gone With the Wind Regatta is returning to Lawrenceville. Because of a major park reconfiguration, our previous lake in the center of downtown Lawrenceville is no longer available. This year, we will be sailing on the lake adjacent to the Edgewater residential community. (You can find the lake on Google maps next to Collins Hill Park in Lawrenceville, GA.) By special permission and help with the recipe from the folks in Charleston, we will be hosting another "Low Country Boil in the Hills of Atlanta" at the home of Skip and Linda Allen. This year we are moving the boil to Saturday night so that the Friday night travelers can join in on the fun as well. Friday night will be open for the skippers and crew to enjoy the dining, entertaining and shopping venues in the northeast Atlanta area.

Please try to plan on joining us for a weekend of fun and camaraderie.

I'll update the list of entries as they are received.

nice day with decent winds but shifts were unpredictable. The leader board is tight with Rick West on top.

Saturday was a sunny day, variable wind speeds and directions. Long upwind and downwind legs with offsets. One fleet, 14 races.

Sunday, The Gone With The Wind Regatta lived up to its name. Very light and when present, over the trees and very "squirrelly". Only beats were on the short offset legs. Six races on Sunday for a total of 20 heats.

FInal results are:

1-Reichard Kahle 66
2-Rick West 67.8
3-Baron Bremer 69
4-Ricky Gerry 76
5-Joe Walter 92
6-Alan Perkins 96
7-John Bottensek 133
8-Tony Shoaf 140
9-Tom Phillips 157
10-Martin Gray 170
11-Scott Vernon 174
12-Tom Germer 187
13-Jack Shepard 197
14-Chris Kakavas 201
15-David Linville 228
16-Bob Larsen 239
17-John Muhlhausen 254

Thanks to everyone who joined us in Atlanta this year. I hope and pray all of you made it home safely.

See you on a lake sometime in the future!

WOW

Second all of the above. If you could have made this one and did not, you really missed out.
Allen family pulled out all the stops in making it a great experience. Thanks all.

All the superlatives and more. There was wind and there was not. There was air and then there was not. It was competitive nonetheless and a lot of fun. Racing wise it was excellent with gentlemen and good sportsmanship. The hospitality will not be topped on or off the water. The Allen family turned out and Skip personally launched and retrieved all the boats before and after each three race set.

This was well worth the trip and a loss to those who did not run the interstates to attend. It was more than sailing a regatta. It was the personal hosting guests for a wonderful weekend with all the considerations covered.

One of the best run regatta's ever.

Skip with Linda and family made us all feel at home while partying the night away on Saturday during the very interesting and delicious Low Country Boil dinner. What an most enjoyable experience that was and one that will be hard to beat as we enter the new year's regatta season.

Please find a link to the Photos of the presentation by Skip Allen to outgoing EC-12 Class Secretary Rick West.

What did I do wrong. I don't see an Atlanta album by Martin.

Martin has corrected the link. Thank you.
