Tilghman Island Regatta Skippers and Guests:
Last minute details you might like to have as you prepare for the Tilghman Island Regattas for J's and EC12's.
This is the second year we have held a regatta in Tilghman, MD for EC12's. This year we added the JClass since there are some skipper overlaps and it is now a Colonial Cup event for EC12's. Your points count toward the Champions Regatta in March. We certainly hope to provide a well rounded enjoyable experience for you with open water racing, sportsmanship on the shore and a chance to enjoy each other in a sport we love. We have a very competitive fleet with skippers from Vermont, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia and South Carolina including those racing their EC12 for the first time.
We wil be fleet racing in both classes and Judy Skerry, our EC12 PRO, will be running a tight ship so make sure your electronics are ready to go so we have a limited number of holds. Skippers meeting Friday is at 10:30am for the J's and Saturday at 9:30am for the EC12's. Bring your EC12 launchers as we will be launching off a floating dock. For the J's we will all team to help each other launch off the floating dock.
If you arrive early, we have a touch pad gate to the YC and Marina on the left before the gate. The code is 2 -1 -6 -1
The Yacht Club building and pool is wide open after 9:30am but the bathroom/locker room has an "at all times" access door combo that is 5 -4 -3 and turn knob to right.

Travel:
1. For those of you traveling on Thursday or Friday and staying in the Easton, MD area and need a good tip on dinner in Easton, try the Brasserie Brightwell, 206 Washington St. or The Washington Street Pub just up the same street; both in Easton.
2. For those of you staying in the St Michaels, MD area there are some good choices for dinner. On the harbor is the Crab Claw and on the main street (route 33) there is Characters, The Big Pickle or Ava's as recommended choices.
3. For those of you staying in Tilghman, MD and arrive Thursday or Friday in time for a beer or dinner, go to Harrison' Chesapeake House and call me 410-353-3637 and I'll come over and join you if possible.
4. At all costs, when traveling down Route 33 from Easton to Tilghman (23 miles), please observe the speed limit. Going through St. Michaels is 25mph and there are deer coming and going from the woods/farms on the open road so be careful and keep an eye out especially at dusk and after dark.
5. Don't forget the pool is wide open so bring your bathing suit if you want to get in a swim after sailing.
6. If you are staying outside of Tilghman Island, we do have showers and a men's and women's locker room at our Tilghman On Chesapeake Marina and YC for you to use for a change of clothes on Friday or Saturday night. This will help those who do not want to make the drive back to your hotel/motel and stay for a no host group dinner at Harrison's Friday or Saturday night. The crabs have been great this year so, if you like crabs, we will bang on a few and they have a huge menu of other choices. Plan Ahead.
7. If you want to bring your 10' x 10' canape and camp chairs there is plenty of room to spread out.
See you soon and travel safe.
