Thunder Mug Regatta

Postby Chuck Luscomb » Thu Aug 27, 2009 8:31 pm

Well guys, if Mystic was just not enough, we have our Thunder Mug Regatta only a couple of short weeks away. So far we have a couple of folks coming to make their run at the New England Cup. We have the defending Champion Bruce Walton who is sure to be challanged by Bob Greer from FL. Jake Leo is close by as well and who knows, Dave Brawner might even make an appearance and try to win it from Bruce. The only way to find out is to see it first hand!

Venuttis Pond is a bit different site than Mystic. Very rural and in fact it was a rod and gun club at one time. The pond is huge, wide open and offers a number of different course options. We have held two events at this site so far and it has given us some pretty amazing results.

The NOR and Entry form is now posted!

You should be there...

The Thunder Mug Regatta is now over with 32 races completed after two days challenging conditions, the trophy winners were as follows...

1 Dave Ramos Annapolis MD
2 Bruce Walton Madison CT
3 Chuck Luscomb Deep River CT

Congrats to Dave Ramos for a well earned victory!

Bruce Walton also edged Bob Greer for the New England Cup. After three events Bob was trailing with only two points between. They both sailed an excellent regatta.

Great job Bruce!

A full report to follow which will be posted in the regatta section.
