A big thank you to the whole gang at Stowe for another wonderful regatta. It's a shame the first weekend in June doesn't come around more often.

This was the most peaceful regatta that I can remember. The only protest was for more elbow room at the bar. Thanks for another great weekend.

I want to thank the Green Mountain group for another wonderful regatta.
From the accomadations provided by Bruce to the outstanding food and an idillylic venue this is a 4 star winner.
The race commitee makes this show run like a Swiss watch!

The first pictures are views of the reservoir near Stowe as a possible Nationals host pond.

Dave Brawner coined a phrase this week-end that really struck a nerve with many of us "away" Stowe sailors:
"You have been STOWED"i.e.you went went from hero to zero in about 2 minutes with a 90 degree wind shift.it happens. It's Stowe, prevailing SWNE wind.

Nice photos Bob. I added comments to the ones of Waterbury reservoir to note which direction the camera was looking.

Well, it seems as though my Dad's new boat proved to be a bit TOO new to compete in the GMR (had never been wet before Friday). Though he had to drop out, its NOT due to a lack of effort by the fleet to get him up and running. On his/our behalf I just wanted to thank the whole group for all of the assistance in troubleshooting, swapping out parts and offers of shoulders to cry on. Those that I remember include:

Brian J for the spare transmitter/receiver and electroniccs experimentation

Gary M for the replacement masthead crane which saved Dad's rig after it lost a match with the conference room ceiling

Ken S for the Aeroplate and general electronics assistance

Countless others I'm sure Im forgetting for offering up spare parts and advice.

As always, the EC12 fleet proved to be a solid group of guys even in light of the frustrations of being "Stowed" for 2 days straight! Thanks again, and we're hoping to have Dad competitive for Mystic. But, look out--for the 5-10 minutes of total sail time it got, it looked fast!

Sorry;
Gary Mueller #90 was 9th with 94 points
Paul Fixx#12 was 10th with 94 points
Usually tie beakers are decided by bullets.
I was not involved in scoring.
