The Championship for the season is determined per the rules: http://www.floridaec12.com/Florida_Champs_Rules.pdf
Florida Association Meeting after racing on Saturday:

Usually we sail more than 4 regattas in a season, but with the Nationals held during one of our race months and an inability to have enough skippers sign up for Punta Gorda whose EC12 fleet has shrunk to none, we are two less than desired.

The Annual Meeting of the Florida EC12 Association will be held after Saturday’s sailing in St Pete. So far I have this on the Agenda, and welcome suggestions to add to the agenda;

1. Data shows a continued drop in attendance at regattas. Not unexpected. Heavy boat to lug around. New classes of boats competing for skippers. Aging. Cost of travel and stay. But it is among the best looking and sailing traditional model sailboats, and we sail in friendly, competitive, well run regattas.

2. Amend sailing instructions re I flag.

3. Election of Officers

4. Ideas on New Venues.

George

The area forecast seems to show moderate winds from the south moving more westerly as the day moves on. Probably not as light as in this vintage photo of an EC-12 regatta at the Golden Triangle Model Sailing Club in St Pete taken 19 years ago.

At this point we only have 9, possibly 10 skippers signed up and it is marginal if the regatta should be he HELD.

SO SIGN UP NOW, PLEASE

Thanks, George Balaschak, Chairman, Florida EC-12 Association
