I generally have a hard time understanding the meaning of words. From MY #146:
"Older boats are available for new owners. These boats are not considered "Has-Beens" and have good performance compared to the general class population. Some have been refitted, and with good sailors at the helm, are in the top of series standings. Pre-owned boats will start in the $500-600 range, with recently refitted ones around $900 with radio."

I don't think it refered to hull manufacturer or age.....but there was a old boat at nationals that finished in the top 10,
There are alot of second hand boats that do very well in their respective series.
If you someone enogh time $$ and resources they can make anything competetive.
