New parts vendor

Postby tag1945 » Sat Feb 05, 2011 5:17 pm

I found a new vendor with a good selection of parts that we use.
The hobby shop is located in the Netherlands and the manfacturer of the parts is located in France. I was unable to make contact with the France site, but the hobby shop in the Netherlands worked out just fine.

Here is how I placed an order to the Netherlands shop:

Get a copy of the catalogue at the link below: The catalogue is 46MB

http://www.cap-maquettes-nl.com/United-Kingdom/catalogue_cap.pdf

This is a retailer for Cap-Maquettes parts. This Cap-Maquettes company is located in France. The web site for this company is in French and difficult to understand. There is no current US or Canadian supplier for these products.

The address for the Netherlands supplier is below.

I found an excellent selection of blocks that we use in the catalogue and below is how I ordered some.

1. To place an order find the product you want to order in the catalogue.

2. Send an e-mail to "John van Gent" at Cap-Maquettes in the Netherlands with the part number and description of what you want to order. I also use a screen capture of the items just to be sure

3. John will send you back an e-mail with the following info:
The blocks are not in stock for the numbers you requested but they are already ordered and should arrive at my shop somewhere (early) next week.

The pricing for the blocks:
PM 10 LB 4 x 8.70 = 34.80
PMD 10 LB 2 x 10.60 = 21.20
P & P (envlope) = 4.00
Total = 60.00 (equals to US$74.-)
(1 euro = 1.2207 Dollar)Check the current conversion rate

We do accept payment from abroad via PayPal.

When this offer is acceptable to you, please return this email with your address details and we will send you a request for payment by paypal/email next week when all blocks are in stock.

As soon as the payment has arrived the envelope will be posted.
Envelope will be marked "contains: sample of model boat fittings"

4. Here is the information that the owner emailed me for my block order:

When this offer is acceptable to you please return this email with your address details and we will send you a request for payment by paypal/email next week when all blocks are in stock.

5. The blocks arrived the following Monday to his shop and he then posted a request for payment on PayPal/email.

6. You will get an e-mail from paypal with the request. If it is as you expected, post your payment to him in Euros.

7. As soon as he receives the paypal confirm, he then will post your order that day. The current exchange rate for 1Euro to our Dollar the one posted that day.

8. It took 8 days for the package with the blocks to arrive.

I just received the following e-mail from John about the Cap-Maquettes products:

Hello Tom,

thanks for your message,

I have created a separate directory in my website:
http://www.cap-maquettes-nl.com/USA
This directory contains for this moment the CAP Maquettes catalog (in PDF) for anyone to download freely (46Mb !!)

I am building an US-website with the CAP program and I am planning on uploading an price-list in English but priced in Euro's.

Order to be send in by email: sales@cap-maquettes-nl.com
p&p-cost are calculated for each order separately.
Invoice will be in Euro's, exchange rate info on paypal.com
all orders can be payed via Paypal, we will take care of the cost of transaction.

I will let you know when the website is on-line (will take some weeks tough)

I'll keep you posted,

Have a nice weekend,

John

Tom,

Can you tell us exactly which item number blocks you bought? It is a big complicated catalog with various lines of blocks. Thanks. And thanks for the heads up on the catalog.
