Why are we not scoring the first race of the NCR? This was the question asked and posted during the night. Then the question preceded move into other comments negative to the class seeding system on the eve of a Nationals Championship.

12 Discussions was not meant to be a “Town Square” where discontent of the class is called out for public consumption. The post was deleted and the member notified of the fact. We do not do business this way and this is not a chat forum. It is a class resource about things EC12.

However, the leading question; we have been using the class seeding list for 20 months and its method of calculation and it was used to seed the 2011 NCR. Race committees have the option to score the first race or not. At the 2011 NCR, it was decided to not score the first race to provide a leveling of the entrants. This was the first use of the system at a NCR and it was felt reasonable till top competitors got used to the program. The staff of the 2012 NCR has decided to do the same.

The class is always open to review policy but not from a public pulpit. The conduct of the 2012 NCR will not be changed by discontent at a time when entry is closed and competitors are planning their travels. Likewise, it would not have been changed in the last several weeks in consideration to all competitors planning to attend.
