Charlie, The 380 will work just fine on the EC-12, but keep in mind that it is way more power than is needed and if anything snags up down below, you can rip things apart. I had a 380D in my old boat and had to rebuild the bow block after the main sheet snagged on another boat in a raft-up. You don't want to sheet in when you hook up with another boat. The winch is that strong.
I mounted my 380 on the front bumper of my truck to pull me out of the mud. [:D][:o)] Just kidding.
You will be fine with it, just make sure things and neat and clean below deck.
I think the 32mm drum is ok, but you might want to invest in a Z drum from RMG for better sheeting control close hauled. I use the 32zs7, which it looks like he just changed to 32ZS6.
