RMG 280 wiring question

Postby Jim Linville » Mon Oct 03, 2005 11:28 am

In my mind, this question is classified as "better safe than sorry." I hope it's clear.

There's a circuit diagram/schematic for a single battery RMG 280 set-up at

<http://www.ec12.info/rmg_drum_eboard.htm>

The drawing shows the Delta MYC method of wiring this servo with a single battery. The drawing shows (and warns that) the red wire from the winch controller to the RX must be removed. I'm confused because the drawing itself shows the red wire on the far left side of the plug while the red wire on the actual plug on my RMG 280 is in the center of the plug.

Is the position of the red wire on the plug important? Or am I worried about and should remove the red wire from the circuit no-matter where it is located on the plug.

Jim,

You are talking about the control wires from the winch to the receiver.

The red wire is always the center pin. It is the + side.
You just unclip the wire from the plug (small screwdriver into the tab opening of the plug depressing the tang and pull the wire out) Tape the wire back covering the loose terminal. I hope you are using a 280DL for the correct amount of revolutions of the drum for an EC-12.
