Does anyone know what the RMG screw thread designation (to keep the drum on) is?

I believe the RMG screws have a 3mm major diameter with a .5mm pitch. Small Parts, Inc. stocks them but the smallest length is 10mm. You might have to trim them down to the proper length(about 6mm).

Hey Reichard,
Do you know if you can get that screw in an allen wrench head instead of the flat screwdriver? It would make taking the drum off much faster in case of in racing demands.
thanks

Harry,

A cap screw for the RMG sounds like a great idea. Smallparts - choice of 5 or 10 mm length.

I have always found them in the special hardware section at my local Lowes. They are a little longer than needed, but a little grinding on the belt sander takes care of that.

I made a screw 3mm diameter with a .5mm pitch and milled a small flat tounge on it so I can screw it with my fingers, no tools required. brazing a flat on a normal screw would do the same.

For what it is worth...
The line angle to the turning block is very slightly offset to the right angle of the drum. This allows the line to track well in the grooves. Because of this the line pressure is always inward toward the motor.
I have never used a screw to hold on the drum and have never had one come off. [8D]
