Battery for RMG

What is everyone using to power thier RMG application?

6 volt, 2700 mah "A" cells or 6 volt 1600 mah "AA" cells is what I use. Both are Nickle Metal Hydride packs.

Well, how about starting a bit of a discussion! I have used a 4.8v 700mah NiCad pack for 3 years now and have never had a problem (if I remember to charge overnight). I have sailed in strong and light winds and have done a full day of promotion/relegation regatta sailing without a hitch. My Tx battery runs out, but not the Rx.

I know I am the exception, but if it ain't broke....

FYI, I am using the wiring as delivered from RMG, and small futaba's for jib trim and rudder.

Most common down under in NZ is 7.2v 1800 or 2100MaH r/c car batteries - they're a bit like the energizer bunny - keep going and going and going[:o)] The extra weight helps down here as we consistently sail at top end of our B rig - same as USA C rig
