I have noticed that in some boats, the jib trim servo is located ahead of the main sheet servo and in some abaft. Any opinions as to which positon is "better"?

Initially forward of the winch was the first thought. I has been found that aft was a better position for maintenance and it also lessened the angles from the collector to the jib fairlead through the servo arm. When the first system board designs came out an aft position was needed because the collector was definitively aft of the front of the board. This design has proven to work out with caution to keep the jib sheetline between the servo arm and the fairlead clear from fouling. Fouling can occur during drifting conditions or when the jib is drifting side to side with a slack line.

The System Board having the sheetlines integral as a unit has made maintenance convenient and less laborious. Additionally, we used to set up with about 16-16-1/2 inches of total winch line travel. Now it is more in the 19" range for good resolution (one bump at a time on the control stick.).
