RMG-self tensioning drums

Hopefully someone will give you some new info, but in the meantime do a search for "tensioning" in "all forumss". Search is one of the links up top on the discussion page. I did not bother to see what all of the discussions said.
One person said it worked well for him.
Perhaps we can make up for the lack of step-down by programming the radio with "exponential".

They don't make a self tension drum for the 32zs6 yet. I asked RMG about this and they said maybe this summer.

Dick,
I have been using the self tensioning drum 45ZS4T on my EC12 and like the system. I built my first boat 2 years ago and decided to try this system over the spring line that most skippers use. I would happy to discuss further if you need.

I ordered and installed the 32stR self tension drum and find that on close haul it is very, very sensitive. I should have ordered the 45zs4ST spiral, which is what Bob Guyatt recommended as the substitute, and probably would have been much happier. But I'm going to live with what I have for a while longer and see how it goes.
