DX6i jib trim with stiff stick

Some people use the right up and down stick for jib trim. Here is a way to use that stick for jib trim and have it stay where you set it.

The DX6i has a metal strip in a bag with the hex wrench. It is to be used to make the throttle ratchet. I decided to see if I could use that strip to make the elevator (right up and down stick) be super-stiff on my second Spektrum DX6i. The first DX6i has a jib trim knob added.

I removed the spring from that up/down stick and installed the metal ratchet strip using one back cover type screw and one (large style) servo installation screw (in the bigger screw hole). I believe that is on the post.

I tightened the heck out of the tension adjustment screw which is at one end of the metal strip and now the stick takes a large amount of force to move it up and down.

So I can set that stick for the desired setting of jib trim and not worry about inadvertently changing my jib trim as I steer the boat, but it is easier to adjust the jib trim if I want to than if the jib trim is on an added knob.
