Words and Whispers abound down under that some are now using multi spreader rigs.[B)]

Chris Lad, for a year. You can see some of it on the building site in the rig section. It is called the Vector Rig.

The design is to establish pre-bend to the mast independent of backstay tensions with raked spreaders. This bend is created by tension on the upper and mid shrouds. The spreader addition is at the general area for the lower shrouds. They are shorter in length and well inside the width of the hull. The jumper spreader remains to counter mast bend in the upper third.

You can see the rig in photos from the 2007 Nationals to date on 94 and 10.

We have no rules to the design of a rig but that of esthetics pleasing to the EC12.

And from a competitor view they are very pleasing to the eye, as well as fast.

I have re-read your class rule and ours today re spreaders. In our rule we can only have the one set which must be within certain measurement parameters whereas yours does not specify any number of or location on the mast.

Is that an opening to have 3 or 4 spreaders? [}:)]
As modern rigs go it seems the more the merrier.[;)]

Yep, and there could be those that would justify such. However, all we have is to look at our heritage for the results.
