I was wondering if those of you out there (particularly those who don't write in often) would give me an idea of how common a 3rd channel is used for independent jib trim? A poll would be nice, or just a listing here. Please feel free to throw in the numbers if you know them of your local group that do or do not use a 3rd channel.
Thanks

Larry, I would say 80 to 90 percent of the skippers I have sailed with in 5 years have a 3rd channel for the jib trim.

The 2004 Survey at the NCR is still posted on Proefrock's EC12 WEB. Any EC12 should be build to have jib trim. It will make you all that you can be.

Here in Palm Beach Gardens most, if not all, of our boats have jib trim! I can't imagine not having it! Doug B #1539

As best as I can remember, I don't think I have ever built a boat that did not have a jib trim installed. For sure since the mid 80's, most all competative sailers found it was one of the easiest and most effective servo's you could add.
