Rules Questions

Postby Shawn Bivins » Fri Jul 02, 2004 9:18 am

Is the rule limit t how high the jib boom must be above the deck?
Is there a rule that governs the gap between the main sail and the mast?

Thanks

Shawn

Hi Shawn, good to see you again at Spring Lake and your help moving those 80 pound monster J's was very much appreciated.

You questions on the sail plan for the EC12 is NO on both counts. Height above the deck for the jib is a preference in relation to the main and dragging a boom in the water. Most often you will see the boom at the clew end higher than at the counter-weight.

The space between the leech of the jib and the mast is physical in relation to the setting changes at the jib swivel. The closest that you would be comfortable with would be at the very aft setting on the jib rack for example.
