New Sails

Postby Matthew Houghton » Wed May 26, 2004 12:19 am

Just put a new suit on my boat this past weekend. I put them on the same way as the used/borrowed suit that I had used for the past several weeks. The geometry on my jib is completely different now. With the tack down close to the boom, the clew end of the jib club is now much closer to the deck and thus not parallel to the deck. I might be able to alleviate some of the problem by moving the head of the jib up the jib stay to the mast but then I will have more of a gap at the tack end.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Matt

Just make sure that your rig is still correct as far as mast rake.

You may like the new setup... hehehehe.. try it before you change it too much. Moving the mast fore/aft might be an option depending on how it lines up. (if your setup allows that)
