Sail storage

Just finished my EC12 and I'm wondering if there's a way to store sails that keep them in good condition - such as hanging. The jib seems to hang well from the head. Not sure about the Main. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Tim G

Tim,
If you would like to keep the sails on the spars, hanging the rig by the crane on a wall works for me. Those off the spars I hang by the foot using two paper binders on rods out from the wall. You can also pen them to the wall.

Sails in a box, off or on the spars is sometimes used but laying flat like under a bed or a ceiling rack.

If you make a case, and I urge you to do so for transporting, make sure the inside width will accommodate the width of the jumper strut. Unless of course your jumper strut breaks apart.
I learned the hard way. I made the case first then realized well this ain't fitting. I will be tapping the holes so I can take it off when transporting.
Hanging as suggested is fine but I might add, release all tensions on the sails like downhaul and outhaul. Very important.

Columbia: My strut slips off nicely after removing the jumper wires but I see what you mean about "advance" planning; never one of my strengths..... :-)

She is also working on a radio cover for foul weather. I saw the prototype and it is really nice. I want one when she has them in production.
