Curious about B Rigs

Postby gizmons » Wed Mar 17, 2010 8:42 am

I ask this question purely because I am curious. What is the rational behind the decision to have mutlple rigs rather than allow different sail combinations to be used on a single mast?

Perhaps the reason makes sense and just eludes me.

Well, the first item is time. You may be between heats and have to change your A to a B. Gets you in the water a lot faster than having to pull sails off your one mast. Secondly, you can set up a rig with different weight sails as long as the rig is the same. Check ec12.info for the rationale.
